About the Author

The author, David I Gustafson, is a born-again follower of Jesus and a practicing environmental scientist. He is a graduate of Stanford University, where he received a Batchelor's degree in Chemical Engineering in 1980. In 1983, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Washington (Seattle), also in Chemical Engineering. Over his 25-year professional career,Dr. Gustafson has authored over 50 scientific articles, a book, Pesticides in Drinking Water (John Wiley & Sons, 1993), and he has given more than 50 presentations at scientific conferences around the world.

In 2003, Dr. Gustafson was named Senior Fellow by his employer, an honor shared by fewer than 20 of the company's thousands of scientists. He is the recipient of numerous awards and other forms of recognition, which recognize his technical excellence and numerous significant contributions to the field of environmental science.
